Um. She wants to dress that way because that is all she sees on the girls that she looks up to and admires! It's all over everywhere. Her babysitter probably sports this midriff bearing fashion, as do the older 6th graders at her school. So why wouldn't she?

DCUM is the most bizarre place. At what point between 7 and 13 did the light go on in your heads where you did the 180 required to find absolutely nothing at all wrong with a 13-year-old wearing bra tops and half shirts and flaming people who object to that--accusing them of sexualizing 13-year-olds? 85% of the girls at my child's middle school cannot seem to find a whole top in their entire closet, so it is not a small number of parents who think this is just fine. Why is it not "just fine" for a seven year old who certainly would have way less interest in appealing to the male libido than a 13-year-old girl would???????[/quote]
