The difference is that Weiss is under a cloud of suspicion because not only did he allow the statute of limitations to expire on some of Hunter Biden's most egregious crimes, but he crafted a deal that would have given him blanket immunity.  
A special counsel should be someone who is unassailable and truly independent.  Weiss does not fit that bill.  
Durham was not under any cloud of suspicion nor did he have any connections to the investigation he was conducting.  
Garland is not a stupid person.  This was a stupid move so we can only assume the fix is in.  [/quote]

And by the way, during my lifetime, the most corrupt, bias, bootleg special counsel was Ken Starr. Yet the right loved him and excused all of his prejudices and political biases. So miss me with the rewriting of what a special counsel should and should not be. Until the GOP start practicing what they preach and stop doing as I say and not as I do, IDGAF about Weiss. [/quote]
