As a parent, the behavior of those kids is embarrassing. They were rude and had poor manners. But I guess their coaches and parents are okay with raising and coaching POS kids.
What did they do?
I wish people would stop asking what these 3 teams do. They are obnoxious a-holes from top to bottom. Coaches and parents set a bad precedent It's not new - been going on for years. NVSL is too scared to do anything as well. Grow a set NVSL.
We belong to one of these pools and the swim team is awful. They’re basically teaching kids from the youngest ages to be rude and obnoxious. Funny thing is most of these kids will burn out because all the coaches and parents care about is winning now instead of long term development.
There are 102 teams in NVSL. 99 of them despise (and no Overlee, Chesterbrook, and Tuckahoe none of the 99 are "jealous" of you) 3 of them.
If I mentioned any of those 3, most of our swimmers and families wouldn’t know who they are. They don’t “despise” and they aren’t “jealous”. Those teams just aren’t on their radar.
I agree the zealous hatred of them is just as weird and sad as how you all are saying they act. Most parents and swimmers are not thinking about these pools at all.
I’m the Overlee parent from the 90s and this is my point. Anyone who wastes any time “hating” a successful summer swim team for kids should ask themselves if they might be a little competitive themselves?
Cool...so you're 25-30 years removed from having any relevant knowledge or valuable commentary...
So you disagree with a comment and respond by being a dick? Nice. All you’ve done is prove the very point I just made. You’re no less nasty than any of the current Overlee parents you are disparaging.
Welp, it is clear you are Overlee alumni as you had to resort to using that type of language. Point proven. Culture apparently began in the 90s I now see...
Ha ha ok. You’re not just a dick. You’re an extremely petty dick. Bro, it’s just a bunch of suburban kids swimming for a few weeks in the summer. That’s all it is. This thread appeared on “recent topics” and as a former Overlee parent I was just curious as to how they keep being the top team. They were top long before we joined and apparently they still are. I didn’t give a f_ck then, and I don’t now. (If you actually read my first post before getting all huffy puffy and defensive, you’d know that.) I’m just curious how they do it.
I wouldn’t call a 2nd place finish this year and 3rd last year being “the top team”. But at least they have their renowned sportsmanship
