We live in a small house in a nice neighborhood and drive 15/20-year-old cars. No tutors, no college counselors, no fancy internships, no big vacations. DH is a fed and I work at a nonprofit. We do pay a lot for extracurriculars for our only kid. I’d estimate that our HHI is in the bottom third of our neighborhood and maybe bottom quarter of our kid’s school.
