How can you tell "generally"? This is crazy. Latin Americans are as diverse as Americans are (it's the Americas). Have you ever travelled in Latin America??? I have met people in Latin America whose ancestors immigrated there from Italy, Germany, Ireland, China, Africa, etc. The one thing they have in common is that they speak Spanish and that is why they are called "hispanic". They are all hispanic.

The guy who just pitched a no hitter (Yankees), Domingo German, is from "Latin America". Would you call him hispanic if you saw him and didn't know his name or where he was from? Just wondering. [/quote]
