Don't. Let the daycare handle it. Tell your kid they can pick out their favorite color shirt to wear if you want or don't. It doesn't matter much. Kids that age won't really care.

The whole concept of pride can be what someone else posted - happy and proud of who you are. That's something that little kids can grasp.  Or they can teach them about the colors of the rainbow.

I think it’s a fantastic opportunity to tell your 4 year old that not all families have one mommy and one daddy. Some have two mommies or two daddies. Some have one mom and a kid or a dad and a kid. You’re wearing rainbows to celebrate families looking all different kinds of ways, and especially the two moms or two dads ways.

My family is just me (a mom) and my daughter, and there is always one kid in her class who DOES NOT BELIEVE that she doesn’t have a dad. Can’t believe it. Insists that he’s somewhere. My daughter will eventually hit your child with info about her sperm donor if you haven’t prepped your child first about families coming in lots of different forms so go for it, OP.[/quote]
