Mom is definitely in the wrong. We can't regulate what other people watch on a plane. That is nuts. She could trade seats with her kid if she is that worried. And we wonder why American's have this reputation for being uptight about sex.
Actually I wonder where our sense of dignity went. I don't think adults in the past would have done this in front of kids. It would be a common courtesy to behave civilly for the good of society.
The mother is the one who didn't behave civilly, though. She behaved like a rude and entitled brat who thought she could yell her way into making everyone on a flight watch the shows she wants her little kid to see. I mean come ON. First of all, her kd catching a glimpse of The Sopranos is not going to cause any lasting harm. Second of all, he probably wasn't paying any attention! Third of all, your mom making a spectacle like that and throwing a fit if everyone doesn't accommodate her wishes is not teaching the kid good resiliency skills. Fourth of all, isn't flying bad enough already - really, you need a mom making parents look bad like this too? If the guy were sitting next to her and she were polite, I would imagine this would have been different.
