In 1948, there were White and Colored bathrooms in Maryland.
In 1948, Jewish lawyers could not work in Baltimore at a non-jewish law firm - I don't even think they could use the public pool.
And while your at it, goin' back in time, Andrew Jackson loved owning slaves - wasn't he the FOUNDER of the Democratic party?  Would you like a list of Democrat former slave owners?  Does that make the Democrat party racists?  No (not today anyway).
