I’m not opposed to private parties like this. In fact, if I were still a kid, I’d be one of the first to go. I just feel like it would be helpful for OP and others if someone would give some concrete examples. Certainly, it would hurt no one if someone says “in 2018 some parents gave a pre prom party (or a graduation party, or whatever it was) for the senior class (or whatever the group was) of ___ School at the ___ (location) and 200 kids were there. You don’t need to name the parents or any kids. Surely many people are aware of these parties, so it’s no secret and, as you say, there’s nothing wrong with them.[/quote]
