Being an actual scholar is fine and dandy if your research area happens to be in a lucrative field or you have a trust fund. But otherwise it's a terrible decision. I know tons of academics who regret their life. [/quote]

And everyone I know who worked on Wall Street after graduating Yale HATED IT.  They all left to do other things and had a hard time because they went from making huge amounts of money to pennies.  But the huge amounts of money weren't worth the 18 hour days.[/quote]
