You realize you didn't deserve that maltreatment as a child, and realize you lacked the emotional and cognitive maturity to see that, when you see your child being mistreated by your parents and you know he or she did nothing to deserve that. I spent a lot of time making sure my DS understood he wasn't to blame for my parents' comments and their neglect of him when he visited. [/quote]
