The homeless encampments pose a major issue as well. I'm very liberal and have volunteered at a soup kitchen for 30 years and I cannot for the life of me understand the opposition to cleaning out the homeless encampments. No one should be living in them, they are unsanitary. I understand why some people dislike shelters and I do think we should do more to provide housing in a dignified way. But these encampments are not it. I have seen rats running in and out of them regularly since they popped up across the city. I've seen rats running into tents that currently have people sleeping in them. It's not okay.

We need to crack down on restaurants, send out theses ratter teams or other mitigation measures wherever we can, and shut down these encampments. There is no reason for us to live like this. We have high taxes and a government that theoretically has all the tools they need to get this done.[/quote]
