This thread is inspiring. I’m 48, 5’7” and 155 lbs. I want to lose at least 10 lbs. I’ve tried everything over the past few years, lose it and regain. Nothing lasts, and when I gain back it is plus a few pounds. Has anyone done something to change their set weight? I’m also curious about the apps you are using or if anyone has used a therapist or online support program. I want to try to do something more moderate in the hopes it lasts. I need to check in and get motivation. I liked Noom but I am thinking 1500 calories and low-ish carb over 6 months might be the way to go. So many diets I’ve done put me at 1200 calories. It’s just not sustainable. I also suspect it is the cause of my re-gain plus extra pounds. I did prolon fasts off and on last spring and haven’t eaten extravagantly this summer but have re-gained plus an extra 5 lbs. I think these low calories plans make my body pack it on later.
The regain is because you're going back to old ways I'm assuming. You have to make the change permanent, in my experience. I'm actually still losing by keeping to it. 5'7 down from 167lbs to 143 now.
