Wrong. Totally wrong. Assist in legal defense? Nope. They will provide some info on local attorneys you can hire. They will also make sure you are being treated properly as per international agreements - getting food, water, not beaten, etc. You really think State is paying legal fees and entering into negotiations over every jackass American who gets locked up overseas?[/quote]
