I'm on hold with Home Depot for the 5th time -- second Home Depot I've called because I thought the first one must just suck. So far no one has been able to answer my simple question because no one can be bothered to pick up the phone before they hang up. Why do they think they can stay in business? I will just google the info and then wait 24 hours to get what I need delivered to my door from Amazon. Amazon is going to put all these crappy customer service businesses out of business. Why bother shopping locally? They make it impossible.
If you think Home Depot is bad, stay far far away from Lowes. I'm sure there are some Home Depots that are worse than others, but I have had terrible experiences with Lowes in multiple states and through their online system - nothing Home Depot can come close to. I spent $400 ordering something online that went to a random address I had never seen before. I called Lowes to correct it TWENTY MINUTES after I placed the order. The person on the phone said there was nothing they could do to cancel the order. I said, that address is not currently nor has ever been on my account, and I even screenshotted the order screen showing my own address. They basically told me to F off and literally made the quote, "The information shown in our online system is not actually what shows up in our computers. It shouldn't be taken to represent the actual details of a transaction." So essentially they are saying nothing on their website systems can be trusted or verified. I would have to go to court to get my $400 back.
