That 16-mile trip will take at least one hour based on the 15 mph average speed. And delightfully, given that the purple line will disrupt intersections already in place (for example, all cars having to come to a stop to let trains through), even people in their cars will be forced to have longer commutes just by virtue of the purple line's existence.
