If so, you are part of the problem.  Your children are watching and listening.  They hear your hate and your insults toward others.  They are learning from you that there are people who are not to be valued - simply because they disagree with you.  
You are not teaching them kindness.  You are not teaching them how to have a useful discussion with others.   You are simply spewing hate.  This is what they are learning from you.

Passing more laws may make you feel good, but it will NOT solve the problem.  Hell, many of our current laws are not even enforced.  I read over and over how gun crimes by felons are dismissed through a plea deal or because of "restorative justice."  
We could ban guns tomorrow, and we will still likely have another school shooting unless we do something that actually makes a difference.

If you have been paying attention, you know that many, many things went wrong with this crime.  From ignoring the red flags on the part of the shooter to the open door at the school, to the lack of a security guard present.  And, that is just the start.

I don't know all the answers, but I do know that simply passing a law in the heat of a moment will not cause change.  There are always going to be evil people who have no value for life.  We need to get better at identifying these people, learn what causes them to be the way they are, and deal with them BEFORE they act on their evil.  We also need to make schools more secure and learn from everything that went wrong here.
