This is hard for me. I recently had a cable guy come for a quick 15 minute job. . He asked to use the bathroom and was in there for a half hour. I don’t think this was acceptable. Now we are having our kitchen renovated. Our house is small so we are keeping our bedroom areas and the basement where we have a makeshift kitchen off limits. I babysit for my grandchildren who are too young to be vaccinated and I care for my 93 year old mother. Due to Covid I do not want to risk any exposure to any of us so we have denied use of the bathrooms since they are located in these off limit spaces that I am trying to keep clean. We do not wear shoes in our house either which poses another problem. The work area is sealed off from the rest of the house. I even have to go out my front door and walk around my house to get in another door to go down to the makeshift kitchen area. One contractor who has been here for two weeks has never asked to use the bathroom but today one of the floor guys asked and my husband said no. I really don’t want to insult or offend anyone. We probably should have discussed this issue before the work started and gotten a porta-potty. Sometimes there are good reasons for the decisions people make.
