Notice how there isn't a discussion of #2. Academic Magnet High School (SC) that's 78% white, about its lack of diversity. Funny how a non-white majority that is excelling is taken down by woke whites in the name of 'equity.'
White wokes got woken when their kids couldn't make it. So they changed the process and removed the test. whites up 26%. asians down 26%. mission accomplished.
So you define best as those who spent the $$ to buy access to the test from the prep center?
Seems like the well prepped kids are keeping TJ on top.
One might believe that if these rankings had any merit but since we know it's just a reflection of the student's family's HHI this simply indicates that the admissions process overly favors the wealthy.
TJ ranks higher than Langley!
And Langley's HHI is higher than that of TJ.
There is a direct correlation between these standardized test averages and school SES. More often than not it's not the hgih-flyers but the absence of low-scorers bringing down the average but regardless neither indicates school quality.
+1000. The top 5 students at Mt. Vernon are equal to the top 5 students at Langley as far as scores and academic potential. However, the bottom 5 at Mt. Vernon are magnitudes and worlds away from the bottom 5 at Langley.
You're on to something! I've always thought that high-fliers would pretty much do the same at any school. I mean sure Langley may have 4-5 sections of AP English and Mount Vernon may only have 2-3 but they still cover the same material with the same FCPS teachers.
