Bocce ball is a no cut sport that is mosty for special needs students. They are entitled to a fun activity too
Yes, that is true. The County recreation department offers a ton of wonderful programs for special needs students. But bocce is not something that MCPS should have spent its Covid money on.
I have to disagree. I feel it's one of the best things they've spent money on and decades.
While I fail to see why bocce is one of the best things they’ve spent money on in decades, I’m willing to consider that maybe I’m missing something. However, if it was of such great value, MCPS should have budgeted its own funds for it (PE, sports, etc.). If MCPS managed without bocce for decades, then COVID did not disrupt our bocce status. The money was meant to offset the damage wrought by COVID, which does not include bocce I tried to teach my kids that there is a difference between needs and wants. Just because you want something badly doesn’t make it a need. Needs have to be prioritized, but then if you’re careful, you can decide which wants to achieve. They may want ice cream, shiny new toys, etc., but they don’t need them. MCPS has to learn the difference between needs and wants. This is why I never support additional funding for MCPS. They go for the shiny new toy every time.
THIS
