This isn’t based on any one school. It’s a new education theory that some are applying. It’s not like LB saw a problem and wanted to address it. It’s more like LB learned about this new education theory and wants to apply it. Grades of the lower performing kids will go up, which will make it appear like it’s a success. Why not apply the same policy for kids who are not turning things in only?  Wouldn’t it be more equitable to only apply this if the exclusion of these buffer grades helps a student rather than apply it to those that it helps AND those that it hurts?[/quote]
