Guilty on 5 of 6 charges, including the big one - sex trafficking a minor (up to 40 year prison sentence). She's basically gone for life.
Another friend of Maxwell and Epstein found dead in a jail cell https://www.cnn.com/2022/02/19/europe/jean-luc-brunel-jeffrey-epstein-death-intl/index.html
It used to be that they killed the victims. Its nice to see the perpetrators facing justice. Frenchman who procured 1,000 women for pedo billionaire dies in top-security jail days as Maxwell waits in misery. Ms Roberts Giuffre said she had 'sexual relations with Brunel on several occasions', between the ages of 16 and 19, according to legal papers filed in America and France.
This isn’t a perpetrator facing justice, it’s other perpetrators being protected. He was undoubtedly going to talk soon; which men, which other rapists and sexual traffickers, are going to skate again?
Perhaps but I see it like this - you have the drug manufacturers, the distributors, and the drug addicts/victims. Mawell and Brunel were manufacturers. They lured the girls in from schools and modeling/talent shows. They waved a bogus 'masse' or modeling contract in their faces. They paid them a few hundred dollars to strip and be virtually molested as a test of their willingness. They pushed the boundaries and broke the girls until they were too afraid to say no. They then sold those girls to perverts and rapists. Should the rapists go to jail who then bought the girls for individual sessions? Absolutely. But killing the purveyors stops it at the source and sends a message - you might have gotten away with sex crimes but eventually you will be killed. I find that much more satisfying than these wealthy filth getting off on 'time-served' and retiring to the south of France like nothing happened. Let the world know what they did and that they died for it.
If that is what it’s about, the whole world would know who Epstein’s clientele was.
+1 This was just silencing one person so that many rapists - and you really shouldn’t diminish that crime, like it’s a one-off, like that doesn’t matter because the girls were too broken to say no appropriately - can go free. Rapists who are alleged to be powerful men, perhaps men who have the power to make the explicit rules as to what women can do with their bodies and get implicit power as to decide which laws protecting women are upheld. No, the murder of this guy in his cell is not a win for anyone but the powerful men who will get to skate.
Until and unless an international conglomerate with ex-potentate powers were willing to go out and arrest every American, British, French, Arab, whatever expat rapist involved in this scandal - and it sounds like there are 100s - this will have to do in my opinion. Glad he's dead. Remember, not everyone with their fingers in the pie at Bear Stearns or the Madoff scandal got their due, but the one main guys were taken and strung up. Its better than its been in the past.
Nope. This is a miscarriage of justice. I’m glad he’s dead, but those hundreds of rapist are out there, most still raping other trafficked girls. You think this is a good thing, that one bad man has been killed before he can name those others? Hell no. This is cowards with power evading consequences. And you cheer it, as if it’s justice.
