Our room moms just ask for $ contributions and they arrange everything. God bless them.
Omg I would 100x prefer thst
Of course you would! We wouldn't want you to actually have to DO anything, heaven forbid! I think they should split the classes up - class A - kids with parents who want to be involved and do fun stuff, class B - kids whose parents do not.
As someone whose kids would be in class B I’m all for this. I don’t have time for this crap.
I’m the pp who has room parents who take donations and arrange the class party. I would be happy to do more, but honestly think this is more efficient. The room parents don’t have to do a sign up or micromanage the parents who forgot the napkins. Our class does plenty of fun things. Maybe the room parents hate the rest of us, but that would be weird because they chose to do it this way.
I’m the lazy ass PP who would rather give money. Honestly some room moms seem very controlling and I feel like they would rather do the whole thing, I’m scared I’m going to bring the wrong cotton balls or whatever and piss them off. But I’d be happy to do everything for one event it’s the running out to but some thing random every two weeks that seems…inefficient. Our PTA was trying to give each teacher one of a specific item and they did not get enough volunteers. I was very happy to Venmo the coordinator $ for 5 items since she was already clearly going to the store to purchase those items. But I just was not going to drag my youngest out after a long day to go buy something I would NEVER have decided on myself. I think the teachers would rather have had the money for what it’s worth.
