It's fine that you don't understand it. The reason you don't is because of socioreligious norms that have been in place here in our culture. There are other cultures that have long the embraced gender fluid  aspect for centuries. Wow I did read it and had no idea, that was very interesting.  I had no idea there was so much history with it.  I am really happy to see people moving into a world where they can live how they want to.  I still feel we have a long way to go.
