I am having mixed feelings about this movie. Admittedly, I didn’t read the book. I’m assuming the book went deeper into the dynamics of the tension between Nina’s family and Leda. Can anyone help explain why her family was always glaring at Leda. Why did Lyle tell Leda it was time for her to go home when they were dancing outside and Toni and crew were looking at her?
Haven't read any responses, but I read in an article that in the book, it delved deeper into Leda's past in that her family or her neighbors were in the Mafia and always very threatening to her, and Nina's family- which is clearly supposed to have Mafia ties- reminds her of that and is supposed to bring all of this tension and fear into the movie. And I assumed Lyle said that because he saw the looks, and knew she had the doll.
