No, that’s not wrong with America now. What’s wrong is conservatives spewing lies and crying in bad faith about persecution when there is righteous pushback against their propaganda. They’re the problem with America now. The way they behave and their values are completely at odds with America. They hate America and all it stands for. It is very troublesome because we've never had a point in our history, certainly within living memory, when there's been such an intense pressure to censor and shut down different veiwpoints in a liberal democracy. I grew up believing and being told all along that a liberal democracy was a marketplace of ideas and free speech, That people were free to share their ideas in exchange for having to tolerate different views and ideas in the same marketplace. If you didn't like something you heard, you didn't have to listen to it, you know? Using political and cultural pressure to demand businesses stifle different viewpoints is not part of a liberal democracy. That is what fascism does. Which is really bizarre, given that the same people attacking anything they disagree with as proto-fascism are the ones who are most quick to make illiberal demands that fascist regime did.

It's ironic that Neil Young, who made a fortune with music railing against the state, is demanding the same state shut down views he doesn't agree with....
