+1
Who NEEDS to go out to dinner and the movies?’! This is truly laughable. The Me-Me-Me Generation of Parents strikes again.
Umm do you know anything about how children were raised in previous generations? If anything this generation is way too kid centric. Also, this is the infants and toddlers thread. STFU boomer. You created this mess.
Yeah, I’m pretty sure previous generations did not go to bars and movies if there was a possibility of infecting their babies with a virus. And I’m only 29, angry little person, but try again.
Do you think people were not going to restaurants and bars during the flu season? Measles outbreak? I can’t believe you wrote what you wrote
NP here and covid is completely different. But I guarantee you that during the Spanish Flu epidemic of 1919 parents were not going to bars. I can’t believe you just wrote what you did. Think!
Care to explain how it’s different for OP’s kids and her vaccinated husband?
Seriously? Okay, because her children are not vaccinated, vaccinated adults can still spread covid to unvaccinated children, and going to a fricking bar or indoor restaurant is not exactly essential to survival or happiness. We’re in the middle of a surge of a global virus that’s still mutating. Why does this have to be explained to you over and over again? Honestly, why? Do you even have little kids so young they can’t be vaccinated? Do you care about them at all?
NP. I have two kids that can’t be vaccinated. Everything I do, every day of my life is for my kids. We live in south Florida with thousands of other families in our area living similar lifestyles to ours. We see friends and family, go to restaurants, vacations, school, movies, bowling, play dates, carnivals, etc. I’ve done everything I can to give my kids the most normal, happy childhood I can give them. After about 2 months of lockdown, my 2.5 year old at the time actually felt depressed. How is that possible, with such a young child? He would wake up and say, mommy I don’t want to get out of bed. I just want to sleep all day. He would take his blanket to the couch and lie there. I had activities, games, a big backyard etc but I fundamentally changed what he knew his entire life, which was mommy and me, play dates, family, trips etc. If I kept that up for two years, I can’t imagine the 5 year old he would be today. I am so thankful we live in an area that has handled the virus the way it did. I am also a democrat, and vaccinated (will not vaccinate my kids). We’ve never caught Covid fwiw. I feel confident in my decisions as a parent to my children. I’m sorry for you that you think parents like myself don’t care for our kids.
You are a true fool and a terrible mother. I fell so sorry for your children. You actually make me sick.
Not PP, but I posted earlier. I am in DC and jealous of the PP in Florida. I have been doing more or less the same, but our weather is definitely worse. Most kids are doing stuff now. It’s only the DCUM paranoid moms who are ruining their kids’ lives and insult strangers on an anonymous board. I feel bad for THEM
+1 Some of you really need to step out of your bubbles.
