DP.  I am honestly perplexed. There are no athletic scholarships at the Ivys, and very few at places like Stanford (you have to Olympic caliber and even then don't get much). The level of hatred seems extremely weird and disproportionate to reality.[/quote]

Because regardless of lack of scholarships - moms still push to make sure their little one gets into an ivy via sport.
