I’m glad we don’t give gifts! The responses here have included a wide range of stuff…what’s something your husband wouldn’t “laugh at” if he received it as a gift? I should have said he wouldn’t appreciate them rather than “laugh at.” I was not trying to mock anyone. He has many things listed by PPs and doesn’t really use them (solo stove is a perfect example). I have no idea what I would give him as a gift that he would like. Probably a stash of edibles.
It really does take all kinds. I’m glad my DH is a thoughtful and generous gift-giver and is happy with pretty much anything we give him, and I would be really bummed (and probably concerned) if all he wanted was edibles. It amazes me when spouses say they don’t ever exchange gifts and I don’t understand it - why not celebrate big occasions or accomplishments with something thoughtful? It sounds joyless not to, and certainly doesn’t make the abstainers more enlightened or morally superior (which seems to be the message trying to be sent).
