OP, if you don't feel safe going, then don't go. Drop your kid up before, pick your kid up afterward.
maybe OP is concerned about the school community and our teachers.
. Other than the Band and Orchestra teacher, I have never seen another teacher at our school concerts. My kid’s Band teacher desperately wants to go forward with this concert. She LOVES her job and will be devastated if the concert is cancelled. Anyone who is concerned about the school community and our Music teachers wants to see these concerts held safely. Require masks and let the kids do their thing.
I really don’t care if the adult teacher “will be devastated.” She is an adult and should understand being responsible.
You sound bitter and resentful. I’m sorry that you chose to keep your kids and yourself homebound for almost 2 years now. That is definitely depressing and sad. Maybe you did so to be a martyr? Maybe you are truly terrified of Covid? I know someone like you IRL and her kid is still in Virtual School. Now, because of your pent up anger, you’re lashing out at people who chose differently than you. Look, experts are saying that it will be at least 3 years before we get past Covid. That is a long time to live the way you are living and even longer for your kids. You might want to blame others for your situation, but it is clear that the blame falls squarely in your own shoulders. Maybe consider taking some baby steps back to normalcy for yourself and your family. Especially for your kids’ sake.
