All this to say that every person and every player is different.  Some prioritize academics, and that’s great if that’s what works. Some prioritize soccer and that’s great if that’s what works. People who prioritize differently can all have very happy and fulfilling lives, there is no one path that is the right one for everyone.

A decade ago, I used to really enjoy reading these boards for information and community, but i’m kind of grateful my kids are aging out and i’m here less and less. The vitriol and blind, misguided certainty are soul-sucking.  [/quote]
