I love Kpop for a lot of reasons but the “fan industry” behind the groups is troubling, to say the least. Like members’ skin tones are routinely lightened not just in official pics but also in fan retouching for fansites, which leads to more colorism, which leads to more retouching … this goes for both male and female artists but is worse with girl group members.
