Anyone else think the shows creators are literally obsessed with masturbation? It’s brought up like two times every single episode. The purse scene? Wth
IKR.
Yes. So over-the-top and forced. I believe the woman who plays Kate is the creator/writer, so she clearly thinks this is what her audience wants to see. No thanks.
Exactly. Does anyone remember the scene where Frankies young girlfriend? finishes watching the baby and says she needs to excuse herself to masturbate. Ummm like WTH 😬 something about “having macaroni in the pot”. I cannot exactly remember the euphemism she used, but that was completely weird and honestly questionable considering the context.
+1 So gross and completely unnecessary. It wasn’t even funny, it was just stupid.
Can you imagine if it was a male character? That was horrible, horrible writing.
Totally agree. It felt like they used masturbation as a space filler in every episode. I think Catherine Reitman goes way overboard trying to make women seem like they’re just like guys. Maybe she is… but no woman I know works masturbation into every conversation (or any conversation). She is so annoying.
Totally agree re "one of the guys" / "but I'm a cool mom" vibe that's just gotten worse each season.
YES - I am watching the new season now and I can't stand it. They just look down on all the other moms and the schtick is getting old. Basically anyone who has any interest in, you know, being a parent, or spending time with their actual kids, is viewed as a loser. It's also unrealistic how the little kids are basically houseplants/decor and never get in the way of adult conversation and adults having free time.
