A bit concerning for NOVA in the older age groups. 3 of top 4 in 06 age group are NC clubs. The top 7 teams in the U17 age group are none-NOVA clubs. The top 5 teams in the U18/19 age group are none-NOVA.
I think the reality is setting in. People will argue it is dilution but at the older ages, the top players are identified and they flock to the top teams. Those on top teams, who don't play, go to less competitive teams. The fact that the best area players are at ECNL but clubs are not at the top level means that this area is not as deep in player and coaching talent as Richmond, Charlotte and Raleigh. The proof is in the recruiting. How many local players are signing with the top college programs, which have their pick of the elite talent from around the nation. Did UNC, UVA, FSU, Duke, UCLA, Stanford, PSU, etc. sign any local Class of 2022. Consider that a few years ago, McLean was competing for national ECNL titles with u18/19 teams that had players committed to UVA, UNC, Duke, Wisconsin, FSU, PSU, Georgetown, etc. What happened?
This isn't how dilution works. Top talent is top talent regardless of how many players are in the mix. Some years simply do not produce NT quality players. At many of the programs you have listed at least HALF of the rosters have players with some NT experience or exposure. Some years are deeper with players than others and that goes for all regions. With the greater number of players in NOVA playing ECNL than those regions you mentioned the player pool is pretty wide so there is no excuse for a top player to not be identified if one truly exists.
