PP who said, "Everyone who has been willing to get vaccinated has done so," is just plain wrong. On August 24, it was announced that: <<On average, about 450,000 Americans a day are getting their first jab, up from 260,000 a little more than a month ago, Jeff Zients, the White House Covid-19 Response Team coordinator.>> He was probably extrapolating from his little bubble (or trusting his biased brain instead of data). The rates have continued to rise in September....but just under 50% of college-aged kids are vaccinated. College mandates and well informed parents who raised children to care about the greater good could make a huge dent in that.
Im the PP who said that. It should’ve said people who wanted to get vaxed have already done so. I’d bet the increase in numbers is not because people want to get the vax, but have been required to by their school or employer. Im sure some of the hesitant have changed their mind because of Delta, but I doubt that’s a large percentage. But at this point, anyone who hasn’t been vaccinated is hesitant for one reason or another. They have been given more than enough time.
