No league or park allows them at games or practices. Unfortunately league, tournament and tram officials do a crappy job of enforcing those rules. I have seen matches halted because some dumbass’s dog got loose and is running all over the field.
So what? Obviously not 100% ideal, but surely a dog putting a temporary halt to a kid's soccer game is one of those mildly amusing things that happens from time to time. It should bring a smile to peoples' faces, be dealt with in sconds and the game resumes. Hardly a "hall of shame" event...?
In Fairfax, at least, there are signs prohibiting dogs at every field. So showing up with one makes the owner an entitled a-hole.
+1
I know reading comprehension is tough, but unless it's a school, the signs say that dogs are not permitted ON the athletic fields, not that they are not allowed at the park. Leashed dogs have always been allowed at all Fairfax County (and FFX City) parks, so taking a dog with you to watch a game is perfectly fine, as long as you do not let it onto the actual field.
So you're staying 15 feet away from the field, right?
I thought dogs were NOT allowed on any turf fields?
The loophole is on the field . unfortunately off the actual playing field but near by is permitted.
