My 8th grader has had a sub since the second day. The kids are apparently assuming the teacher is quarantining but they really don't know. And honestly, if so and has tested positive then I'm glad it's happening now so hopefully they can build up some antibodies. I've given up on these morons getting vaccinated. And after the way Neal handled last year I wouldn't count on her to handle anything transparently or in the best interest of the students. At least DCPS took enough control and said all teachers would be back or the debacle that was pretend school last spring could be repeating itself now.
Why are you assuming the teacher is unvaccinated?
Vaccinated teachers don't have to quarantine. I'm a teacher that was exposed through a close contact last spring and didn't have to quarantine. It's not unreasonable to assume quarantining teachers are not vaccinated.
Hi! Teacher here with a breakthrough case. I was vaccinated back in February when I was in person. It sucks and Im mad. I got it from one of the kids in my room…I know it. But Im not telling parents or students that I have a breakthrough case. It’s not their business. I did the right thing, I was vaccinated.
