Moved out of state last year mainly due to APS failing to open, and our new public school class max is 20. So relieved I'm not dealing with this ongoing APS nonsense....and feel bad for parents that are. I only look back here occasionally out of curiosity but I truly never imagined it would still be bad (in different ways-expanding class sizes, no lunch spacing inside) in APS one year after we moved.

(Side note: APS could have done what it's doing this Fall with its Covid plans, LAST fall.) If anything it's dicier now with the delta variant and kids.

I'm honestly surprised at how many good people have stayed in APS despite all this. Either these boards widely exaggerate the situation and most people are happier than it seems at APS, or they just don't have the option to move.[/quote]

This is us too. We moved across the country mainly because of the failure of the school system. Kids have been back in school 3 weeks already with actual learning from day 1. My 6th grader is definitely behind their peers since they were mainly in person last year. We will work to catch them up but it’s going to take a lot of work. I do feel for the kids still in APS. Similar situation here.. the difference of being in a district that prioritized kids being in a classroom last year is crystal clear. Thank god we left when we did. I feel bad for the kids/families and teachers/staff that are stuck with APS leadership.. I've also noticed a stark difference in teachers being more engaged/happy because they are treated well. Which has a direct impact on the kids. [/quote]
