^^^And that is exactly what FCV is positioning itself to do. VIVA is in Annandale near the St. James. Get rid of underperforming BRYC and it’s a done deal.
NOVA doesn’t need another ECNL club and BRYC leaving doesn’t necessarily mean FCV is in either. The reason BRYC is so bad will not be changed by FCV moving there. BRYC is surrounded by ECNL clubs and already being a poor performer keeps them from drawing quality players when VDA, Arlington and McLean/Union are better draws and overlap geographically. Virginia clubs that would get ECNL before FCV would be Skyline and Beach. But North and South Carolina need more clubs so that ECNL can realign and condense divisions. Adding 2 more VA clubs could make for a reasonably sized division with less travel. But North and South Carolina need to add clubs too. What is keeping FCV out of ECNL are a couple of things. 1. Over saturation in NOVA 2. Politics 3. Lack of a boys side. (Yes Villarreal address that but those other issues just complicate it. Also, with Evergreen where will FCV be isn’t going to help.
