This may be the final straw for a lot of restaurants. I will abide by the mandate, but I also want a vaccine mandate.
I’m certainly avoiding DC now because of it. My family is visiting from the west coast and we’ll be changing plans to visit MD tourist sites.
Excellent call -- everyone knows the air is safer in Maryland.
NP but I think PP is avoiding DC to avoid wearing a mask indoors. And that is my thought as well. I’ll go to Maryland to grocery shop, eat at restaurants, get coffee, etc. I’m done wearing masks indoors, I already followed the rules for a year and got vaccinated to protect vulnerable people. And the rest of the country is just living life at this point.
Avoid MoCo though- not that anyone stopped wearing them but I’m sure a mask mandate will be back soon.
Ha, yes, not sure MoCo even needs a "mandate" to stay fully masked. Certainly won't be a place to appreciate random unmasked tourists just "living life." Go elsewhere PP.
I was seeing fewer masked people in stores then yesterday everyone (100%) was masked again. I assume because of the new CDC guidance. Masking in MoCo is not yet required and probably shouldn't be given the huge vaccination numbers. MoCo is probably at heard immunity already and if it isn't, it will be there in a month when 90% of 12+ year olds are fully vaxed. We may have outbreaks in elementary schools. These numbers are among the highest vaccination rates in the country. https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view People Vaccinated-----------------------------At Least One Dose---Fully Vaccinated % of Total Population-----------------------------77.6%----------------- 70.7% % of Population ≥ 12 Years of Age-------------91.4%------------------83.3% % of Population ≥ 18 Years of Age-------------92.3%----------------- 84.6% % of Population ≥ 65 Years of Age--------------99%-------------------93.4%
