I've read Kendi's book. I've studied institutional racism and I welcome my child reading books by non white male authors. I can differentiate between the idea of how Whitness is a concept where powerful white people maintain institutional power through structures of hierarchy and that's not the same as saying "all white people are evil monsters"

I think most white poeple are uncomfortable with how much unexamined privilege and power they have. And either they reject it in terms of feeling extreme sense of guilt or they reject and complain it's "cancel culture" or  its' "cirtical race theory that means every white person is Hitlter" rather then focusing on how to solve a the problem.

So you support teaching a book written by someone who actively lobbies for discrimination against whites?  And I'm glad you welcome your child reading books by non white male authors.  But do you support a racist teacher who says, "I refuse to teach books written by white men?"  Surely you can see that those are different, no?  And how would a 9 year old white kid view being told that whiteness is  system of oppression?  Or how would a 9 year old black kid view his white friends after hearing this?
