What???!?! Top DC clubs never lose to Coppermine. Never. Coppermine is a lower tier club, by FAR. And Stars/Capital and Pride certainly do tie and beat Heros, M&D, and MD United their fair share. You obviously haven’t really followed girls lax in the DMV for long.
Not sure what you follow but Coppermine 28 is arguably the best team in the country at the 28 level. They blew threw the top LI YJ team, Heros Green, MDU and have beaten M&D several times by a lot. The 27 team is strong as well. You may want to see some updated results. Stars/Capital hasn't beaten Pride recently let alone trying to beat Heros, M&D etc. Again, not sure what you are watching, but Stars hasn't beaten anyone worthwhile in a long time. In NGLL they had 1 playoff team from the 27 B bracket and that was it. The Capital/Stars name is not what it used to be. Pride is slightly better but still not beating the top teams. NGLL they didn't have any teams in the championship games and at the HS level they are still growing.
2028s are not even in middle school yet, completely meaningless. The older teams are not good and mostly lose— 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025. They tend to lose talent as high school approaches as they have a poor record with college recruiting.
Of course it has meaning. Why do you assume that because a club team is good with juniors in HS, that automatically means it stays that way?
Yes because kids from the lower tier teams that have potential will move to the known clubs. New clubs pop up all the time but by high school the best girls have all filtered to the clubs where they have the best chance Of being recruited. Coppermine doesn’t even get invited to the top tournaments at the high school level. But hey, you probably know more than me because your 11 year olds team had a good summer so far. —parent of a 2023
Clearly you are focused on your 2023 daughter (big summer for her), which is great, but if you aren't paying attention to what Coppermine is doing at the middle school and lower level, I can't help you. Goaliesmith coaching, top facilities, Very good 27 team, top 28 team in nation. #1 seed in NGLL 29 team, Playoff team at 2030. Hero's M&D will always be great, but yes, Coppermine is a force and will build off that at HS level in a few years. (My daughter is not on Coppermine BTW, not geographical desirable for us)
