Jeremiah 10:2-4: "Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not." (King James Version). Clearly the bible earmarks this pagan tradition which predates the birth of Christ our Lord as idolatry. Leave the decorated trees for the heretics.
I'm curious why you feel the need to pick such a fight? Relax. Enjoy the holiday. Love someone. Surely you understand that Christmas trees have been an integral part of Christmas for hundreds of years now. Why are you concerned about this?
I ask because of the "Leave the Christ in Christmas" messages we get, or "Jesus is the reason for the season", or the people who go off when you say "Happy Holidays" instead of Merry Christmas. Trying to beat them at their own game using their own Bible.
