It's so weird how, if we devote the vast majority of transportation resources and space to car transportation, to the detriment of all other transportation modes, then people respond to this by using cars for transportation...

As it happens, though, one third of households in Washington don't have access to a car. And in plenty of households in Washington that do have a car, people chose other modes of transportation for some or most of their trips.
