Well, I'm confirming what you say and not.  My kid DID end up choosing the higher ranked school.  But my kid DIDN'T EVEN APPLY to dozens of others because the CTCL seemed better.

Another kid in my family applied only to CTCLs because they seemed nicer.

Frankly, if all the CTCLs became hot and attracted all the DCUM supper competitive people, they'd lose some of their character.
