20:42, very interesting post. I'll put it this way, Biblical scholars of every persuasion believe a man named Jesus walked on the face of the earth and was crucified by Pontius Pilate. I also believe there were supernatural happenings that occurred during and following this event. What were they? Can't tell you. I also wonder why the disciples, with nothing to gain spread his teachings and risked hardships. I refuse to believe this whole story is a fairy tale people have passed on for centuries. Not there with believing in eternal life yet.
“20:42” here. The disciples spread his teachings and risked hardships because they believed in Jesus’s teachings and, if my supposition (that Jesus was mostly dead when he was taken off the cross and survived his wounds) is correct, they believed that that was a miracle (and again, surviving puncture wounds like that in the Iron Age? Kind of a miracle). So they shared his teachings. If you don’t believe in eternal life, I can’t help you do so. I’m not advocating for a belief in a gated heaven at which St Peter guards the gates, but there is lots of soft evidence (not courtroom-level hard evidence) of the existence of a soul and that the energy in the soul continues forever. Netflix’s Surviving Death, especially the reincarnation and near death experience episodes, has about as much evidence as a person can have to that end, but if you don’t want to believe, I can’t make you believe nor would I try. And if you’re interested in the early church, don’t forget that the women were instrumental in the early church and were then slowly excised from the historical record. https://www.amazon.com/Mary-Early-Christian-Women-Leadership-ebook/dp/B07NZT14J3
Netflix? Seriously? It's not exactly a serious source of scientific information
