Who in their right mind wants to watch two seasons of a series before it "gets good?"
Exactly what I've been scratching my head over.
I also feel that way but Parks & Rec is a good example. It didn't really get good until Adam Scott and Rob Lowe showed up at the very end of the 2nd season. I watched the first couple episodes just to get a lay of the characters and then just skipped forward to when they showed up. I don't think that would work with SC though, since a lot of it is the evolution of the characters.
We watched the first episode of SC b/c of the awards buzz and because we have seen Levy and O'Hara in a few things and liked them. In my opinion, O'Hara is the best thing going in Home Alone and is the sole reason I'm willing to watch it every Christmas with my kids. Well -- not the only reason -- I do love the scene where the old man reconciles with his family, and I get a little teary, sure, but only because of the movie -- certainly NOT not because my kids are all grown up now and going out into the wide, wide world, which is a tough place, you know, where hearts get broken and . . . Oh, wait, we were talking about Schitt's Creek, right? Anyway, as I was saying, we watched episode 1 because of the awards buzz and it didn't grab us. But why keep going with it? There's so much else to watch. Highly recommend Catastrophe.
PP here and totally agree about Catastrophe. I'm Sorry is another good one.
