Don't know when announcement will be made but FCV and BRYC have some form of partnership that much I know People couldn't believe it either when Arlington was going to ECNL then all they could do was shut up. Yes BRYC and FCV have something in works thats all the public needs to know.. For now.
It’s a TSJ branding deal. TSJ owns FCV and could care less about the club and only in how it supports TSJ’s brand vision to create a DC metro sports academy a la IMG. TSJ currently happy with FCV but sees the writing on the wall and not being aligned with ECNL is now a problem with the brand objectives. TSJ willing to throw money at issue as long as it continues to grow to secure adequate cash flow for the investors or more accurately to carry the real estate assets after operating expenses. Bryc is being pitched and courted but sees little value in FCV and merging the teams would be prohibitive from a logistics and field space perspective. A lot of talk but no action. I understand bryc is not the only team in discussion.
Sounds more like if TSJ can't strike a deal then they may bail on FCV.
Sounds like they will bail either way and FCV needs them more than the other way around at this stage. Why not bail on FCV to avoid any issues with merging clubs. The FCV players are capable of finding other teams in this area at all levels of soccer if they are concerned with how TSJ may impact them. Why not just end the deal at the end of the spring season and move on without FCV?
There isn't anything to bail on other than the Evergreen lease, coaching contracts and the players. If TSJ simply buys BRYC, players, coaches are replaced. BRYC fields are closer, allowing the club to utilize TSJ's fields more and actually be able to charge the teams for the use. The deal would also allow the TSJ to actually double its number of players because of the boys program. TSJ, also bailing on FCV pretty much forces the players to scramble to BRYC or find another club. FCV would no longer exist and be out of GA thus strengthening BRYC as well as other local ECNL clubs. Perhaps Bobby and Christian stay on board but either way, FCV no longer exists and would essentially be out of GA.
If TSJ bailed, wouldn’t FCV just go back to being FCV? Not sure what the TSJ brand does for FCV other than line the pockets of the directors and coaches.
Could TSJ just sell FCV?
To who? And what are you buying? It would be easier to just hire the coaches you want and hope they bring the players.
FCV has league memberships. Some small club may pay a little to become FCV and get those slots
I don't think you understand. FCV is nothing more than a name on a patch. It could just as easily be TSJFC. For marketing they simply kept the FCV part but FCV no longer exists. If TSJ buys BRYC they buying into ECNL and may either choose to rebrand TSJBRYC or just go with TSJFC. They may keep on Bobby and Christian as well as bring on BRYC coaches. There is nothing to sell. They would just focus on ECNL and quite possible no longer be a GA club. They wouldn't be afraid of losing FCV players because they are picking up an entire club who will do little more than buy new kits and use a new billing system. And of course FCV players are free to stay and sort out a roster with BRYC. Older kids would but who knows on the younger side. How many will drive by clubs to go down to Springfield. They may keep Evergreen but that would only be for the GA teams if they remained in GA. But the top dog is going to drive the location and the top dog will be ECNL and BRYC wouldn't sell to become a Loudoun based club.
