At least she was told she could.  I am 24 and have asked admin if I can return and they have ignored my emails for 2 weeks. Guess they really don't want my self contained classroom to come back in person or any for that matter. This.  Teachers that stepped up to do in person are getting vaccinated.  Hybrid plans are finalized.

Just because now they are offering vaccines, and you want it and changed your mind, they are not going to accommodate.

It’s just like the teachers on here who did not volunteer to go in person and instead stay virtual who are now complaining that they weren’t offered the vaccine.  You chose virtual and you will have to wait and see if your school is going to open up more hybrid classes.

I mean it’s not hard to figure out that right now school admin are busy with hybrid opening and all the logistics of that and dealing with any issues that come up, supporting these teachers, etc....  So yes, not surprised your email hasn’t been returned.  That boat has sailed and you missed it.  You will just have to sit tight and wait.[/quote]

Yes. I put virtual because my DOCTOR recommended it to me at the time. I'm not going to go into detail, it's none of your business.
But I always made it clear I'd come back at least for term 4.

And my school has 4 in person classes and 3 CARES, a school with 400+ kids. No plans for any other teacher to return, 1 more wouldn't make a difference.

Some of you are cuckoo, 'you choose virtual so now you can't return in person even if you want to!' 'How dare teachers not return in person!'

PS Did I mention the vaccine? I already received both doses because it's not that hard with the amount they waste.

Not sure where you are coming from but no one under 65, even with major medical conditions, has gotten the vaccine anywhere in the DMV.  If you really got the vaccine, you are likely in the 1%. Also in DC yes it is absolutely hard to get the vaccine.[/quote]

DP. That’s not true. They can’t waste vaccines that are about to expire, so if someone from the current phase misses their appointment, they give the vaccine to someone who is present and willing. I know someone who had time to spare and waited one afternoon with a book and was able to get it so they didn’t have to throw it out. This has been happening everywhere.[/quote]
