Ack. I feel like this thread has gotten off track. I was one of the posters imploring women to use better sense, but I also completely agree with the above.  When posters despaired that she jumped into a relationship w/ someone who looks like a serial killer, we do it while also holding him 100% responsible.  I just wanted to be clear on that. It is always always always the abuser’s fault, and I don’t think anyone disagrees.  With that knowledge, we are our own best protectors and so there are things we can do to avoid & remove ourselves from abusive relationships and that’s really important to acknowledge.  [/quote]
